TRANSFIGURES OF THE FOREST
2022 I SPECULATIVE DESIGN WORK
Showcased at Hönnnun fyrir annann heim, Norræna húsið
If humans were able to produce food from within their own bodies, like earth itself - would their relationship to Earth transform? Would they be united in humbleness, respect and deeper understanding?
As claimed by the World Food Programme: “The world is facing a food crisis of unprecedented proportions, the largest in modern history. Millions are at risk of worsening hunger unless action is taken now.“The work explores a reality where humans hvae started to genetically modify themselves in reaction to these food crisis using the the most nutritious plant on Earth - the Moringa plant. To collect nourishment after this genetic modification the humans have grown a tail which is shot into the soil and 8 breasts (Artemis of Ephesus) to drink from. The project consists of objects needed for this coming change in rituals and habits.
